Professional Background

Joanne G. Jacobson is a principal in SS&B’s employee benefits and executive compensation practice. Her core practice areas are tax-qualified retirement plans, including pension plans, profit sharing plans, 401(k) plans and ESOPs; and nonqualified deferred compensation and equity compensation programs. She also works closely with plans sponsored by tax-exempt employers. Ms. Jacobson assists clients with plan design, implementation and administration, and with tax issues relating to plan contributions and distributions. She also assists clients in performing internal compliance audits, utilizing IRS and DOL voluntary compliance programs, and responding to audits and investigations by IRS, DOL and PBGC. Ms. Jacobson joined SS&B in 2000 with more than seven years of employee benefits practice experience.
