On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Tax Act of 2009.  The goal of this Act, commonly referred to as the "Stimulus Plan," is to boost economic activity during periods of economic weakness by increasing short-term aggregate demand. The Stimulus Plan impacts nearly every industry and business in the United States.
